1. Who are Bryon and Mark?

Bryon and Mark are like brothers, except they aren’t blood related. Mark moved in with Bryon when he was nine because his parents died. Bryon is now sixteen and Mark is fifth teen and they are always getting into some kind of trouble.

2. Who are the two young people Bryon meets at the hospital?

Bryon meets a boy named Mike Chambers who was in a tremendous accident and is staying in the hospital, but he never gets any visitors. Bryon also meets Cathy. Cathy works in the basement snack bar of the hospital. She is also M&M’s sister, but Bryon doesn’t recognize her at first because they were never close friends like she acted.

3. What kind of relationship does Bryon have with Charlie?

Bryon and Charlie are friends from when Bryon dated Charlie's sister. When they broke up Charlie and him stayed close friends still. Charlie gives Bryon priviledges, suchas letting hm in the bar even though he's under aged. Charlie even trusts him with his car! The only thing is that Bryon can't get a job at Charlie's bar and he is a little bit upset about that. They still have a close relationship together and they don't fight between eachother.

4. What happens at the dance?

Bryon goes to the dance with Cathy, M&ms sister and he is having a great time with her until Mark's friend Curtis comes and tells him that Mark got hurt bad. Bryon rushes over to Mark in the parking lot where he was drinking on someones car. He had been bashed in the side of the head with a beer bottle and has to go to the hospital to get ten stitches!

5. What does Bryon begin to discover in his private conversations with Mark?

Bryon began to realize that things are changing and him and Mark are growing apart. He is sad to say that things aren't the same and may never be again he loves Mark like a real brother. He doesn't want things to be different and for him not to have Mark.

6. What happened to Charlie? How do Bryon and Mark feel about it?

Charlie got shot and died after trying to get Bryon and Mark out of trouble. Bryon feels terrible and he doesn't even know what to do or say about it anymore and is trying to explain to Mark why it's not okay that they let this happen. Mark is thinking of it as him just trying to help them but got shot.

7.What do Mark and Cathy think of eachother?

Mark doesn't like Cathy all that much because she is driving Bryon and him away from eachother. They are extremely rude to eachother and don't get along in general.

8. What does Mark do to Angela? Why?

Mark cuts off Angela's hair because he is mad at what she and Curtis had done to almost have him killed.

9. In chapter seven, what does Bryon begin to discover about his good friend Mark?

He begins to discover that the reason his parents shot eachother was because of Mark. Mark doesn't see these things as terrible things that has happened to him though he is just thankful that he is with Bryon and safe.

10. What happens to Bryon at Terry Jones' house? How does this change his attitude?

At Terry Jones' house Bryon is beat up by the Shepard brother's because he took the blame from Mark cutting off Angela's hair. This changes his attitude because he doesn't want to fight anymore. He's done getting beat up.

11. In chapter 9, what happens to M&M? Why does this move Bryon?

M&M looses his mind and he's never going to be the same mentally. Bryon gets choked up about this because M&M was such a great kid and he doesn't want to see him change.

12.What shocking discovery does Bryon make in Mark's bedroom (chapter 10)? What does he do?

Bryon discovers that Mark is selling drugs to bring in money for their family. He is in complete shock and calls the cops on Mark and Mark is taken to jail!

13. How does Bryon's relationship with his friends and his attitude toward life completely change?

Towards the end of the book Bryon's relaionship with his friends aren't the same anymore he doesn't hang out with them or get into fights anymore. He goes to work and doesn't really date anymore. He isn't into Cathy anymmore, infact he's stopped dating for awhile.

14. How does Bryon feel at the end of the book?

At the end of the book Bryon tries to apologize to Mark, but Mark hates him now. He thinks he should've just told Mark to stop selling drugs and he would've stopped right away! He feels terrible and that he shouldn't hav called the cops and got him arrested.

15. What do you think about this book and what life message does it teach you?

I thought this book was very violent and that they could have settled their problems without fighting physically. It tought me not to lie to my friends especially when something bad is happening. It also teaches me to be faithful to my friedns and not to turn on them wheni don't know their stories.
